Choose Your Adventure 2018 Fun Run FAQs

Whether you’re still considering registering for our Choose Your Adventure 2018 Fun Run or you’re already on board, here are answers to some of the Frequently Asked Questions about this event.

Do I need to take all of the pictures at the same time?
No, you have until the end of March to take the pictures. I mean, if you can get a picture of yourself on the beach, in the snow, in a foreign country, and on the train tracks with your Gramma Gigi on the same run, go for it! But for the rest of us, we’ve got plenty of time to check as many boxes as we can.

Where do I send the pictures for verification?
There’s no need to submit the pictures. You’re on the honor system, and knowing some of you, that’s probably the first time “you” and “honor” has been in the same sentence.

You are invited to post your pictures to social media and use the hashtag #tsruns or tag @TeamShenanigansRunning on Facebook/Instagram or @TeamShenanigans on Twitter. We’ll share the best ones.

Do I need to be in the picture? Does it need to be while running?
Yes, you need to be in the picture. It can be while running, walking, or any other physical activity that has you out and about.

What happens when I reach 10 points?
Ten is the minimum, okay? Now, you know, it’s up to you whether or not you want to just do the bare minimum. But some people choose to do more, and we encourage that.

How do the weekly contests work?
From time to time during the registration period, we’ll be giving away prizes to one of the participants. Winners are chosen randomly from among all of the registrants. Participants are eligible for multiple prizes, so register early to have a chance at the most prizes!

What charity does my registration fee benefit?
The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) is the nation’s largest funder of multiple myeloma research, and 90% of its donations are used in research and research-related programming. Two of the drugs MMRF research helped developed were used by doctors to help keep Caryn’s grandmother, Gigi, alive for several years. As a charity runner for MMRF at the Boston Marathon, Caryn has committed to raising $10,000 to give back to the organization which gave Gigi life.

I can’t decide whether to run, eat, drink, rest, or take a selfie, and I need help making a decision. When will I receive my medal which will bring some resolution to this conundrum?
Medals will be manufactured at the end of the registration period on March 31st. We expect them to ship to participants in May or June. We’ll keep you posted.
